August Twenty

August Twenty is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) planning provider, which provides their solutions across Europe, Asia and Africa. The August Twenty site had become outdated and they wanted me to redesign the website to an MVP version to increase their brand awareness and credibility, furthermore they wanted a platform to generate leads and to improve their conversions. This case study examines the process and outcome of the August Twenty redesign.

MY ROLE

UI Design, Web Design

THE TEAM

1 Website Design, 1 Founder, 1 Junior Associate, Solution Architect

TIMELINE

Dec 2023 - Feb 2024

TOOLS

Squarespace, Figma, Adobe Photoshop

The Challenge

The current website doesn't clearly show the services that August Twenty provided and the website was outdated with an old UI, the redesign needed to clearly show the solutions offered at August Twenty and make it easy for potential clients to contact the company.

Challenge 1: We want to clearly showcase the solutions we offer

Discussions with the business owner and product manager helped us discover the first challenge which was to clearly show the solutions August Twenty offered, the emphasis was placed on provided clear information of the product offerings to potential clients from the first page.

Challenge 2: Design Constraints

August Twenty had just renewed their contract with Squarespace creating design constraints as the Figma designs had to be compatible with Sqaurespace, which has limitations based on the software.

Design Goal: Introduce a consistent house style

Problem

The Business Values and branding isn't evident in the current site and we wanted to introduce those elements in the redesign

Solution

I worked with the Founder and Junior Associate to create a colour system which we incorporated into the website redesign.

Design Goal: Responsiveness

Problem

The previous website wasn't responsive and I put an emphasis on adding responsiveness as it would impact the user experience on different devices and limit accessibility. Furthermore, this would impact the brands perception as it could give the impression the brand is outdated.

Solution

I  created mobile designs on Figma and adjusted them to the Squarespace template.

Final Delivery

Conclusion

The delivery of the August Twenty was an interesting experience, I delivered the MVP website after 3 months of back and forth meetings and iterations with the August Twenty team. The new website highlighted the companies services and made it easy for users to contact them. Some key takeaways I took from this project is the importance of clarifying the final expected outcomes of a project and being aware of the design constraints when working with CMS websites which have their own templates.
